Linux Systems Administrator-Operating Systems Programmer Analyst 1 (UCP 4)

The University of Connecticut, University Information Technology Services (UITS), is seeking an energetic, proactive, self-motivated analyst to fill the position of Linux Systems Administrator (Operating Systems Programmer Analyst 1 - UCP 4). The successful candidate must have an understanding of the routine workings of a large, complex computer operating system and possess the ability to apply basic problem solving and resource management techniques. Under the direction of the designated manager, this position provides technical support including installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and problem solving in support of the University’s central Linux servers.

High Performance Computing Storage Administrator (Operating Systems Programmer/Analyst 2), UCP 7

Under the general supervision of the Team Lead for Research Technology, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the university’s large-scale research storage platform on the Storrs campus. Incumbents in this position are considered technical specialists and are expected to have expertise with large-scale integrated computing systems. Individuals are expected to apply a wide range of problem solving and resource management techniques to their work, which is of moderate to complex difficulty.

This position is responsible for leading the Network Operations staff who perform primary diagnostics, testing and trouble resolution, document installations and maintain networking systems for University Information Technology Services (UITS). Responsibilities include the overall management, direction, and day-to-day activities for the core, distribution and access tiers of the University network as well as the wireless and data center networks.
